Artist Statement:
I pick up on socio-political themes with an anthropocentric focus. I use a unique silicon-based technique that gives colorful and humorous works an elasticity and texture that reflects our time - a time in which words and meanings are warped and distorted so that their previously clear meanings must be redefined.

Alexander di Vasos was born in Kinshasa, Zaire, and is of German-Greek origin. His work combines sociopolitical themes with an anthropocentric focal point. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Athens, Greece, where he had studied painting, sculpture and pedagogical. Previously he studied graphic design on the Technological Institute of Athens. Since 2004 he has exhibited his works in Germany and Greece. Alexander di Vasos currently lives in Berlin.

Private collections: Museum of Contemporary Greek Art, Vorres and private collectors.
