Artist Statement:
My work explores ideas of boundaries and limitations related to human sensibility and psyche. As an artist with an architectural background I do not have a defined medium but concept and spatial manipulation are two necessary components; it’s what relates my artistic practice with my architectural background. As a consequence sometimes my work manipulates the space(especially through the use of video) and some others the work is purely conceptual.

Biography:
Ruth A. Mora is an Architect; lived in Toronto for about 10 years where she co-founded Sumo Project with Gaston Soucy as a private multidisciplinary design-art/ research practice. Recently extended that practice to New York where she currently lives and continues to be active in both, art and architecture. She has been several times guest critic at University of Toronto and Pratt Institute’s Faculty of Architecture, recently been selected to be part of NYCxDesign and is an MFA graduate from Pratt Institute in ‘New Forms’ concentration(non-traditional forms of art).
