Artist Statement:
A biological, guttural sense of space and form articulated in any means necessary. Precision, play and the ability to deform and reform a carcass, a being, a universe provide the impetus for and the connections between each work. All is tempered and by the compulsive desire to create and expand; destroy in order to rebuild.

Biography:
I grew up in the woods of Connecticut and Massachusetts. Childhood encounters with animal carcasses as craft materials - play things - led to a life long sense of primal awe in dead things and stimulated a never-ending impulse to create. I've always been looking for something to manipulate, to reanimate, to invent, to reinvent. I received a BA in Studio Art from the University of Maryland - College Park (where I also received my passion for printmaking) and then an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute. I am currently located in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY and am still a creep in constant search of my next carcass.
