Artist Statement:
I make absurdest work that focuses on pop culture, politics, America, and art history.
Biography:
I moved every year growing up. I was born on the road in a small town outside of Gary, IN. I spent my childhood in Detroit in the 80's counting all the burnt out houses. I spent my teens in Chicago and Memphis learning about gangs, drugs, and music. I went to college to learn architecture to figure out a way to fix Detroit and the American city. I majored in Art instead. As of 2013 I have lived in 17 cities in 7 states and 2 countries. My work focuses on community, America, pop culture, color, and humor. I've participated in many group shows, a couple of solo shows, published a book, and received grants from National Endowment for the Arts and Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
